Work starts on rebuilding the wall on the Clarence Road side of the Methodist Church. The wall was damaged almost two years ago [date TBA] when two cars collided on the junction with Alma Road. Listed building considerations and insurance aspects delayed the repair work until now. The Stonemasons, A J Jones of Reading, have been asked to undertake the work which will use traditional lime mortar and wherever possible the original stonework. The company were also involved in the alterations to the church some years ago. We have one or two pictures of the Queen opening the church following these alterations which we hope to include here shortly.
